A Neolithic Universe - Jonathan Morris

This is, without doubt, the most totally bonkers, dazzlingly brilliant, and entirely plausible theory about the purpose of Stonehenge that I have ever read. It manages to explain every aspect of the monument — its location, orientation, construction and purpose in an entirely practical way that demo...

Re: Pictograms or Geoglphs? - proposed Glossary edit

After further discussion with Nigel Twinn, I have made the following changes: Geoglyph A large human-made design or motif on the ground, usually as a form of land art. Examples include the Nazca lines in Peru and the chalk hill figures of southern England. The term was originally applied by C Bloy t...

Re: Pictograms or Geoglphs? - proposed Glossary edit

My understanding, on top of everything that is said in the Glossary, is that Manifestations are associated with crossing energy lines and Pictograms are not. I have been dismayed to overhear the word "pictogram" being used, frequently, when really energy lines are present so it's a manife...

Pictograms or Geoglphs? - proposed Glossary edit

I have recently exchanged a couple of emails with Nigel Twinn, Bill Kenny and Billy Gawn about the terminology used in the Glossary of Terms for Geoglyph, Manifestation, and Pictogram. I recall at the time we were compiling the 3rd edition, I argued against the term 'Geoglyph' as it's a dictionary w...

Yes, I know there is still a problem that I haven't managed to track down. They work when I do a manual test run but not when they're supposed to.

And now available on the Isle of Wight! A monolith has been spotted on the Isle of Wight - days after similar structures were discovered in the US and Romania. Time Team returns!

This is exciting news - the popular 'Time Team' programme is to return, with a more community-oriented, Patreon-funded model. Also, they are going to be making classic TT episodes available on YouTube. Here's the official announcement from Tim Taylor (series producer):

Re: The Guardian, "UK water firms admit using divining rods...."

A little late to the party with this one, but here's a really interesting blog post by Eric Wargo from July 2019 reacting to Ms. Page's campaign and supporting the use of dowsing. It's a long read, but well worth it. Interestingly, Le Page never says whether the dowsing water engineer found the pipe...

Re: Metal Monolith In Utah.

I think it's a publicity scheme for something. The Utah one has been removed by four men with a wheel barrow - it was constructed on a plywood frame with thin metal cladding.

Another one has since appeared on a hilltop in Romania. I don't expect that will be the last of them.

Here's an interesting post from Historic Environment Scotland about the inspirations for the Scottish scenes in 'The Black Island'. https://blog.historicenvironment.scot/2020/11/tintin-inspirations-for-the-black-island/ I hadn't realised that the artwork had been changed in subsequent editions: In t...

Hot on the heels of my last post, here's one about water on Mars! Salt lakes may exist under the ice at the South Pole of Mars Under the ice at the South Pole of Mars, a huge salt lake may be hidden. Italian scientists believe that this is where future missions to search for extraterrestrial life sh...
