Re: Tim the Enchanter

Gardner claims to know that King Arthur really was Scottish. Getting a bit off-topic here, but I had to respond to this... :) Of course Arthur's Scottish! Haven't you read "Arthur and the Lost Kingdoms" by Alastair Moffat? Y Gododdin is about a tribe who inhabited south-east Scotland, wer...

I was in the bookshop last week and couldn't remember the title of this particular book, and ended up with his "Bloodline of the Holy Grail" instead! Ah well, there might be something interesting in it, one never knows.... :)

Braida Medallion

I came across an old BSD journal from September 1985 in a second-hand bookstore in Inverness, and there is a letter from Frank Moody in which he mentions a "Braida Medallion", and how it can be used for protection and healing by placing pictures or witnesses onto the medallion. I've never ...

I am somewhat sceptical (or should I say zetetical? :) )about the whole 'orbs' thing. Yes, I have seen some significant pictures with orbs and have even taken one or two myself, but I have also taken many non-significant pictures with orbs, and managed to replicate them without much effort. So I'm n...

I think the solution in each case depends on your personal paradigm for dealing with such things. I too use terms like 'energy ley' to indicate what I dowse as a yang flow of energy, unlike 'water veins' which dowse as yin. I find that the most effective treatment on water is earth acupuncture using...

No problem Richard; that's what I'm here for! :D All sorted now. May I suggest that you take a moment to register with the forum? You will find that it makes life a bit easier. There will be a 'register' option in the blue links at the top of the page, just under the bit that says 'welcome to the BS...

I couldn't see why this was in Earth Energies either, so I've moved it to the General forum.

George DelaWarr and the Radionic Camera

"The Radionic Camera developed in the 1950s by George DeLaWarr was capable of imaging the past and the future, and he published photographs demonstrating the effect. In the opinion of DeLaWarr, "Time is a vector of the magnetic spectrum and that spectrum has a place in itself for events.....

Thanks for bringing that up, Richard. I wasn't aware of the DelaWarr case, and knew very little about him. However, a Google search has turned up some very fascinating stuff on his work, such as his invention of the Radionic Camera... hmmm, I think I ought to start another thread on this! :)

Fraudulent Mediums Act 1951

I came across a discussion on this Act on another forum; the Fraudulent Mediums Act replaced the Witchcraft Act and is partly responsible for the rise of paganism and wicca today. However, on reading over the Act there is a section that could possibly be interpreted as relating to dowsing. Here's th...

Hello LadyEvesham, and welcome to the forum! Can anything be used for dowsing? Do you need to use a proper rod? Or would a home made rod fashioned from two pieces of wood be sufficient? Yes, you can use anything for dowsing as long as it gives you a meaningful response, and many and varied are the c...

I am reminded of a story told by Billy Gawn, who was once told that you couldn't dowse if wearing welly boots. Sure enough, this turned out to be true, until one day when he forgot that he was wearing them and found that he was dowsing just fine. The moral of that tale is not to let self-imposed res...
