If it was me I would maybe see if anybody else wanted to try using it; if not, either bury it or cast it into a fast flowing stream.

Thanks guys, I've dowsed (with another pendulum) where it would like to be buried in the garden, and it chose near a very large and healthy smoke bush. I've just put it into the ground now and thanked it for all the help it had given me over the years. I also took the chain off it (as advised by dowsing). Felt like a good and right thing to do.
