The first review of the Blood-line movie has appeared on the web. It looks like the film is a bit of a disappointment.

The Rennes-le-Chateau Research website now have a large number of video clips from the upcoming documentary film Bloodline available for viewing. [Tomb Discovery] They give a good feel for the movie, with excerpts of interviews with key players and researchers, as well as visits to locations of interest.
If you like this sort of thing, lots to peruse on The Daily Grail site (Including comments about Randi, Charles Fort, and
paranormal researcher Dr Richard Wiseman has surveyed over 400 performers of stage magic to see what their opinion is of the paranormal, and written about the results in an interesting article for Skepchick (with more details on his own website).

The Rennes-le-Chateau Research and Resource website have made available online the entire Shadow of the Templars documentary, from which grew the seminal hidden history books Holy Blood, Holy Grail and The Messianic Legacy (and, despite the legal view, The Da Vinci Code):

In 1974, British script writer Henry Lincoln introduced the Mystery of Rennes-le-Château to the English speaking world through his documentary "The Priest, the Painter and the Devil". The documentary created a storm of publicity and eventually led to the production of a 2nd documentary in 1979, Shadow of the Templars, which you can see on this page. This documentary was already co-researched by Michael Baigent, which later led to Henry, Michael and the late Richard Leigh writing the international bestseller Holy Blood Holy Grail.

Punk hero and Grail Hunter Rat Scabies is looking for people that want to join the next annual Saunière Society trip to the Languedoc. Besides Rat, there will be John Millar and Henry Lincoln to discuss theories, sacred geometry and whatever else you would like to know about the mystery. Dowsers welcome...

Bloodline "treasure" was discovered by dowsing

Bruce Burgess, director of "Bloodline" in a recent podcast revealed how part of the treasure was discovered by dowsing:
Bill Kersey was with us and he was dowsing for objects. Dowsing of course will show a disturbance in the ground where there will be a large object, and we actually went to a smaller cave and the cave structure there, Bill dowsed, found a spot and this time about a metre down discovered this wooden chest.

There is a heated debate about it on this forum.

I think I now understand the reference to "Dowsers welcome" by Mr. Scabies !

Otto Rahn

Post by Ian Pegler »

There is a good Daily Telegraph article on Otto Rahn HERE.

Otto Rahn is said to have been the real character who inspired Indiana Jones, according to the reporter who has evidently been reading Nigel Graddon's new biography of Rahn. I should point out however that Spielberg and Lucas have always claimed that Indiana Jones is entirely fictional, based on the kind of heroes in Saturday afternoon serial adventure movies of the 1940's. Roy Chapman Andrews has also been cited as a real life inspiration for Indy. You could also throw in Captain Montague Parker for good measure, if you like.

Good article though. There's a a podcast interview with Nigel Graddon on Radio Rennessence this month (May 2008).

Anyone who has visited Rennes-le-Château over the last couple of years will have noticed that the Saunière estate is in a bad state. If nothing is done soon, two of the major landmarks in the Mystery of Rennes-le-Château, the Villa Bethania and the Tour Magdala will have to be closed for the public or worse.

I was there last November. Whilst some things were a bit tatty, nothing looked like it was in imminent danger of collapse. But with increasing numbers of tourists, they do need to get something done sooner rather than later.

The diocese of Rome has banned filming in its churches of the prequel to the Da Vinci Code, a popular book and film that has angered many Catholics.
"It's a film that treats religious issues in a way that contrasts with common religious sentiment," Monsignor Marco Fibbi, the diocese spokesman, told AP.

Ah, but will they be banning "Angels and Demons" tourism? That remains to be seen...
