Hi all,

I am new on this forum. My name is Katja (it really is:)) and I have not been dowsing long. I work with frequency healing, and I use dowsing as a tool to determine which frequency could be useful to treat a disease. I am still a bit cautious, as I realize that your conscious mind may influence the outcome, however, I suppose that becoming more experienced at dowsing will give more correct outcomes.

So, I also use dowsing on myself as a healing tool. I have noticed some stunning results already, like internal sensations caused by the subtle energy that is set in motion by....? Anyway, before I started I got the advice from someone to search on Youtube for Raymon Grace, and I think he is great! He really motivated me to start with the healing procedure.

The only problem I am having is that my arms get VERY tired, and I have even developed seriously strained muscles in my chest and back. I really don't know how to find a solution to this problem, so perhaps you guys have a tip for me.

Bye for now!
Katja

Hi Katja, welcome to the forum.

Are you saying that your arms get really tired from dowsing? What dowsing tool are you using?

May I ask what techniques were used to find buried oil-lines? Any success?

Another arrival to the Forum. I am a recently retired, 60+, have worked in the arts and cultural sector. Discovered dowsing 12 years ago. So I´ll be a newbie for the rest of my life, as it seems that it takes some 30 years or so to become skilled. I live in a thinly populated country in Scandinavia called Sweden. There are few dowsers in my country so mostly I´ve had to learn by myself.

Hi Christoffer, and welcome to the forum.

You'll find plenty of information, both in here and on the main site, to help your dowsing, so feel free to ask us any questions you have. I'll be interested to hear about your experiences dowsing in Sweden too.

There is a Swedish Dowsing Society - have you been in contact with them?

Yes, I`ve been a member for some ten years of The Swedish Dowsing Society.

Though I think that this society is suffering from the same problem that I sense dowsing societies in the UK also have: a declining interest in dowsing. Fewer new members and fewer young people among them.

On the positive side new mutual contacts have been taken between dowsers organisation and groups of people/societies with a sort of common ground: Feng Shui and Healers. Also some people who have become aware of the importance of intuition have found out about dowsing.

Hello from a complete novice!

I've been reading the earth mysteries literature for many years, and recently I've been looking a bit more into dowsing itself. Some of the things I've read include Tom Graves' 'Needles in Stone', Paul Devereux's 'Places of Power' and I'm about to read Hamish Miller and Paul Broadhurst's 'The Sun and the Serpent'. I've also picked up a number of back copies of the BSD Journal from eBay, and I've recently discovered the 'Adventures in Dowsing' podcast and I'm working my way through all the episodes.

I'm particularly drawn to the earth energies aspects of dowsing and research at ancient sites. However, my only hands-on experience (so far) was a one-day course for beginners run by Dowsing Anglia in January, just before the lockdown struck. So I'm really here to learn more than to contribute.

One question I have concerns Tom Williamson's book, 'Dowsing: New Light on an Ancient Art'. While it seeks to establish dowsing practice (especially water and mineral dowsing) on a scientific footing, it's quite critical of some popular ideas in the dowsing world that I've read about elsewhere. I'd be interested to know how the book was received when it was published, and what people here think about it. Does anyone know of any good reviews, critical or otherwise?

I'd like to try out dowsing a bit more, but I lack confidence in what I'm doing and the responses I get. Can anyone recommend some simple exercises I could do with my L-rods, perhaps even here at home, to get a bit more practice in. Any advice or ideas welcome!

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum.

Your book list is certainly off to a good start - 'Needles of Stone' was the book that got me into dowsing, many years ago. 'The Sun and the Serpent' is a great one for earth energies. As is 'The Dance of the Dragon'.
Other suggestions: The Spine of Albion by Gary Biltcliffe & Caroline Hoare; pretty much any of the dowsing books from Penwith Press, or my own site.

For more inspiration, Tim Walter's YouTube channel has a ton of instructional videos and is well worth a browse.

And of course, the main website here has lots of earth energy articles, the indispensable Glossary of Terms, and a free download of Roy and Ann Procter's classic Healing Sick Houses book.

I have the Tom Williamson book, but it's been years since I read it. I haven't come across any reviews that I can point you towards. It does reflect attitudes at the time, that were prevalent even in the BSD, where anything remotely hinting at mysterious 'energies' was branded as complete woo-woo and not worthy of any serious dowser. Originally, the Earth Energies Special Interest Group had to be set up outside of the Society because of this, before the BSD relented and brought it back into the fold - mainly because it transpired that over 70% of the membership were more interested in the more esoteric stuff than they were in water dowsing, a trend that continues to this day.

Thank you, Grahame. I've been enjoying listening to 'Adventures in Dowsing', starting from the very beginning.

I appreciate the additional recommendations too. My copy of 'The Sun and the Serpent' came from Penwith Press, though I picked it up secondhand on eBay; when I received it I found that it had been inscribed by Hamish Miller, which was nice. Tim Walter's YouTube channel also looks very interesting; I'll enjoy browsing through the videos.

I'm interested in your remarks on Tom Williamson's book. Knowing the context and background is always helpful. Do you happen to know whether the author of this book is the same Tom Williamson who co-wrote 'Ley Lines in Question' with Liz Bellamy? The bios don't really match up, so I suspect not.

Hi Every one I'm excited to be here thanks for excepting me.

My interests are Dowsing, Native American Earth Wisdom ( Mayan ) and Healing

So my story Ive been intrested in dowsing for some time but recently took a greater interest over the last two years as I have more time now and my previous job took me away from home.

I'm very lucky to be living in Cornwall West Penwith and surrounded by many Circles, quoits, fugues and standing stones and two years ago became a CASPN monitor and presently monitor for the Merry Maidens and some out laying sites and have been working with the Merry maidens for a year now and as my relationship grows she has opened up to me and found it fascinating.
I have found a number of circles around the stone circle two of which have the same signature as the stone circle size and even the amount of stones and was wondering if they could be remnant circles and what drew my attention was I could see the circles in the grass being greener and had more growth and a number of smaller circles around the main one to.
I have found two groups of three Vortices to on a out laying stone in the same field to the WSW of the main Circle within the three vortices which are about 3-4 feet apart in a Triskelion formation all anti clock wise and dowsed it to be above a aquafer and the other is along the same energy line but 5 feet closer to the stone circle and I beleave this could be a portal as is my go to place to send energy and healing into the World and have dowsed this is the place to contact the Ancestors of the land
I have Had some wonderful experiences here after calling in my Personal protection and the Spirits of the six directions and personal Hygiene as we know its all about intent and moving from the heart and have started to connect with the Dragon of the Energy on site and have moved into the shimmering very quickly and seeing the energy tunnel across the land ,when as before it would have taken me days of deep Cerimony to achieve this in the past.

Although I consider myself as a Newbie I feel confident in my dowsing and very much self taught and a member of the the Devon Dowsers and am in the process to start mapping the site and out laying sites but have used the Mapping dowser app on my phone but find it some what limited so back to map dowsing which I haven't done much as I'm more of a boots on the ground guy as I like to be grounded.
Thank you all again and look forward to sharing and learning more and would really apricate confirmation on my findings.
I know this may sound a bit whacky but its my truth :)
Sincerely Mark

Welcome Mark, glad to have you on board. We look forward to hearing about your dowsing exploits.

I am slightly surprised that you are a member of the (albeit wonderful) Devon Dowsers, when you have Trencrom Dowsers right on your doorstep, so to speak. They also have strong CASPN links...?

Hi there new to the forum and also to forums in general so I may be a little slow on the forum uptake :). I live in the far north of scotland with an interest in all things earth energy related, we are surrounded here by masses of ancient sites. Currently wading my way through various books I have gathered on the subject and interested in understanding the earth energies and alignments here in the far north, I'm reading the spine of Albion at the moment which is making for fascinating reading . My interest began quite a few years ago in glasgow when I read david Cowan and ann silks book and I paid a visit to a david cowan with a friend of mine and visited various sites around crieff, it was the most amazing day and I have been hooked since I also read harry bells book glasgows sacred geometry which sadly has disappeared from my collection.
I dont have much experience of dowsing working mainly on connecting with the ancient landscape around me by feel but plan to begin my dowsing journey - I have been reading and working through some of grahames great links and information and if time would allow attend his workshop at some point- it's become a bit of quest that I spend most of my free time on at the moment and i would love to map and dowse the ancient sites around us here - anyhow just popping on to say hi and introduce myself
