No.
A brief quote from Glastonbury: Origins of the Sacred by Tim Hopkinson-Ball:
Tim Hopkinson-Ball wrote:"But as Geoffrey Ashe has observed, there has been a regrettable tendency in recent years for alternative historians to push
Glastonbury's origins back to an idealised pagan past and in so doing they largely ignore the Catholic Christian foundation
story, upon which Glastonbury's myths and traditions so firmly stand."
It is my understanding that Dr. Hopkinson-Ball is (or at least was) a trustee of the Abbey.

I don't deny for one minute the long Christian heritage of Glastonbury, but why aren't "alternative historians" supposed to say anything about what may have come before that?
Why should there be nothing of relevance other than the Christian narrative? Why can't different narratives co-exist?

He goes on to say:
Tim Hopkinson-Ball wrote:It is particularly ironic, therefore, that in an age of religious pluralism and cultural diversity, that the richest and most
fundamental element in Glastonbury's story has been largely rejectied, replaced instead by modern imaginings which deny their own antecendents.
I don't even know that it is true to say that the Glastonbury story has been rejected. By whom? I don't see why "modern imaginings" can't be at least as
spiritually valid as a mediaeval legend. I also find it ironic that he cites J. Armitage Robinson, whose Two Glastonbury Legends was actually a scholarly
critique of the various historical sources documenting the J of A and Arthurian legends and which, if anything, served to undermine them.
