Quotes

Post by ledgehammer »

(mod - moved from 'Metaphysics and Spirituality' - GG)

I am piecing together my book, and I am going to place quotes between the chapters,

has anyone got any quotes they wouldn't mind me using (credit will be given of course) ,

or famous quotes that relate to the metaphysical or the motivational angles, or perhaps something really really special,

I am going to use Douglas adams: "I love deadlines, I like the whooshhhing noise as they pass by"

and Einstein: "The important thing is to not stop questioning"

to give you an idea

I would really appreciate it :-)

Thanks

Tom

also I am in search of a proof reader and possible people to give me feedback, the book will be an e-book about consciousness, motivation and spirituality (an introduction if you will) and It will also be free for everyone eventually.

I guess the important thing is that the quotes you use should reflect what each chapter is about
and what we are supposed to learn from each chapter.

Since we haven't read your book that's going to be difficult. Perhaps you should give us a few clues?

Ian,

I was going to get the quotes then allocate them, there are 26 chapters! Could be quite tricky to get one for each of them. I am going to refine the chapters, i.e sub chapters as this is too many, but i wanted a quote for each one if possible, and some may have to be generic to achieve this.

I have a feeling i sent you a very early copy of the book a while back.

The list of contents is as follows:

Introduction

• The Meaning Of Life & excersize

• Perception & meditation excersize

• The Miracle of humans & Learning to love yourself excersize

• The World Around Us & Mindfulness Outside Excersize

• The Universe As One & Consciousness perceptual excersize

• Levels Of Consciousness & Out of body meditation Excersize

• The future Is In Your Hands

• Goal setting

• Becoming greater

• Emotional Balance

• Past trauma & Eft Excersize

• Our connection with the infinite consciousness & Free drawing excersize

• Dowsing

• Left and right consciousness

• Yin and yang / tai chi excersize

• Big Brother

• Ancient sites & excersize

• Creating a consciousness

• Dowsing a ley line

• Cymatics and geoglypths

• Dowsing a geoglypth

• Dreams and the unconscious Mind

• Lucid dreaming

• Death the end of consciousness?

• NDE'S

• Sending love to loved ones excersize

• My Personal experiences

Most of the chapters have an excersize attached, e.g for The World Around Us & Mindfulness Outside Excersize , the world around us is the chapter, and the mindfulness is an excersize relating to the chapter.

“In the beginning, God created the earth, and he looked upon it in his cosmic loneliness.

And God said, "Let Us make living creatures out of mud, so the mud can see what We have done." And God created every living creature that now moveth, and one was man. Mud as man alone could speak. God leaned close to mud as man sat, looked around, and spoke. "What is the purpose of all this?" he asked politely.

"Everything must have a purpose?" asked God.

"Certainly," said man.

"Then I leave it to you to think of one for all this," said God.

And He went away.”

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space.
He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." Einstein

Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment,

Tom, I found your post on this Forum. Though it was many years ago, I'm just curious... How did your book come out?
Hope it was a big hit.
I liked your concept as well as the "exercises" you have with most all Chapters. It gets your Reader involved and makes them think.
Wishing you success.
