Some thoughts on Herbalism

Post by Lyndon Ronstadt »

From one perspective, herbalism is based on the belief that every body, living or otherwise, has an etheric counterpart which exhibits it's own quality or essence.

Ether is a subtle form of matter which has its own base quality and every living thing adds it's own quality - the result of it's own life activity - to that basal etheric quality which supported it's own constitution.

The contribution of individual quality does not directly return to the basal quality of the contributory ether but is collected, when the lower form dies, and deposited in a reservoir for the benefit of future generations.

What is changing, and will become increasingly possible to future generations, is that mankind will be granted direct access to that reservoir of quality for the purpose of hastening the process of evolution and the efficient upgrading of existing physical forms by scientific methodology.

In future, health will be linked to the quality of the nutritional components in an individual's diet and thus the need for medical restitution will be much reduced.

The health of all life on this planet will depend on the quality of the plant material it consumes and that quality will increasingly become the province, the service, the manipulatory assignment, of mankind.

Nice thoughts, Lyndon Ronstadt. I agree with you. The more we take care of our herbalism and being completely natural, the more healthy food and life we have. And for me, the most important thing in herbalism is " No chemical hormones, just the nature" and this is the mankind assignment as well...

Taking it a little further, Lyndon, I think we shouild be concentrating more on flower/plant essences (Bach, Australian Bush) which work on our etheric bodies rather than the physical. And then there's homeopathy, which takes it to an even higher level, with its potencies.

Modern medicine, with its antibiotics et al, only suppresses symptoms & pushes them inwards so that the dis-ease subsequently manifests itself in a different form - it is not a cure.
Homeopathy, on the other hand, 'combats' like with like, and encourages the etheric body to heal itself from the inside out; the real cause of dis-ease lies in the etheric body & the physical symptoms show themselves when this psychosomatic (as you might call it) illness is not faced up to & dealt with.

Of course, the quality of what we consume is vital also and, these days, quality is hard to find!

Helen: quality of what we consume is vital
..not sure if a pun was intended- but "vital" (full of Life") is key....

 Perhaps I should have said "essential", but then you could say the same thing - "full of the essence"!

Questions for the curious:

1. If the flowers of some plants contain Quality/Essence which, while apparently 'not of this world' can, never-the-less, be transferred by a physical absorptive medium, ie water, to the human body with beneficial effect, what principles are involved here and what further progress can be made in this field?

Der crumbs, Maisie, my pencil's broken.

2. If flowers contain essence, what about the rest of the plant? For the purpose of obtaining unique essence, how many parts does a plant have?

3. Each plant part has a number of constituents - pulp, juice etc. For the purpose of obtaining unique essence, how many constituents does a plant part have?

4. Is water or alcohol the most efficient essence absorptive medium for all constituents?

5. Does plant essence have wider application than simply correcting our mood swings? What of health and nutrition?

6. If essence works by balancing our subtle bodies, how many subtle bodies do we have that may need balancing?

7. If physical disease is caused by imbalances in the subtle bodies, is the imbalance the same for each person with the same disease?

8. Is there a disease profile which imbalances one or more subtle bodies in the same way for each individual?

9. If plant essence can correct imbalances in the subtle bodies, do the same plants/essences correct the same diseases in all individuals?

10. Do the subtle bodies vary in characteristic, one individual to another?

11. Do we need both a disease profile and a subtle body profile before we can cure a given disease in a given individual?

Homeopathy? Is that what pigeons have?

Water is accepted as the basis of all life and, as such, has metaphysical properties that have only recently been discovered (see Dr Emoto's website). It seems it can absorb thoughts/emotions that are directed at it & preserve them. In astrology & dream interpretation, water has always been associated with emotions & feelings.
2. If flowers contain essence, what about the rest of the plant? For the purpose of obtaining unique essence, how many parts does a plant have?
From sight, we can see that a plant has roots, stems, leaves & flowers; all a plant's energy ultimately goes into the flower & the production of a seed, to ensure continuation of the species. Therefore it is obvious that the maximum energy will be in the flower at the right time. Trees are slightly different, due to their size & longevity, and much energy can be found in their leaves & sometimes the bark.
4. Is water or alcohol the most efficient essence absorptive medium for all constituents?
What other medium would you suggest that is immediately & easily available??
6. If essence works by balancing our subtle bodies, how many subtle bodies do we have that may need balancing?
We have about six. I believe that all the subtle bodies are interconnected, so balancing on the etheric, for instance, would filter through to all of them.
7. If physical disease is caused by imbalances in the subtle bodies, is the imbalance the same for each person with the same disease?
No. We are all unique.
8. Is there a disease profile which imbalances one or more subtle bodies in the same way for each individual?
No.
9. If plant essence can correct imbalances in the subtle bodies, do the same plants/essences correct the same diseases in all individuals?
I repeat, no. Each individual is complex & unique.
10. Do the subtle bodies vary in characteristic, one individual to another?
I don't understand this question!
11. Do we need both a disease profile and a subtle body profile before we can cure a given disease in a given individual?
No. (Not sure what a subtle body profile is.) To a good homeopath, the disease profile is irrelevant; he/she listens to what a patient says and his/her perception of what is wrong.
Homeopathy? Is that what pigeons have?
Try reading up about homeopathy, you'll be surprised. Two recommended books - Homeopathy & Human Evolution by Martim Mlies, and A Homeopathic Love Story by Rima Handley, both excellent & informative reads. You know you want to!

This is my personal take, of course, I'm not a homeopath...just an intuitive!

Oops forgot one.
5. Does plant essence have wider application than simply correcting our mood swings? What of health and nutrition?
Mood swings, as you call them, are basically our state of mind, and our state of mind undeniably affects our health. So it follws that by affecting our mind, the physical health will automatically change. Nutrition is quite another matter (involves chemical properties) and not really what we're talking about here.

Each physical disease or ailment has its cause in the imbalance of one or more of our five bodies, gross or subtle. The bodies affected by a given disease are the same for each individual (the disease profile) but the cure is dependent on the Qualities of the bodies affected which differ, one individual to another.

In attempting to cure a given disease or ailment one must select a plant who's Quality matches that of the Body to be balanced. Then, the plant part and constituent of that part who's essence affects the cure, has to be identified and the essence extracted.

If that were not enough, the active essences have to be combined with a Synthesising Agent applicable to that system of the physical body in which the disease occurs. There are thirteen systems to the human body and the synthesising agent for each system is the essence of a particular Fruit. You may have heard that Banana is helpful with skin problems. Banana is the Synthesising agent for the integumentary system.

Now, I've not yet got to the bottom of this and still have outstanding questions to answer but I hope this record will be of use to those who are interested in healing and are able to do original research through the instrument of dowsing.

Below is a useful diagram. Note: this is a Matter (Substance) diagram. There's a separate one for Consciousness.

If you look at the qualities for the Physical Envelope you will see that one of them is Expansion. People with that particular quality in their makeup tend to be tall or broad. For what it's worth, my own particular profile is Harmony, Philosophy, Distribution, Measurement and Thought - at least in potential if not reality.
