With regards to the empty cist and the missing skull, surely it is tempting to put two and two together?

I for one am rather incredulous at the idea that having gone to all the trouble of preserving the skull by gilding it, that the next step would be to stick it back in the dirty hole in the ground from whence it came. I jut can't see that happening. The next question then surely has to be who would want one and what for? I don't really know the answers, it's all just speculation, but not unreasonable, IMHO.

I haven't bought any of the French Rennes le Chateau books although I did buy a French book on sacred geometry there, entitled A la découverte du mystère divin , par le décryptage des symboles religieux de la géométrie sacrée et des archétypes universels by Marie-Gabrielle Janier. Mercifully there are lots of illustrations.

Latest news from CADW...
Applied Art Residency Valle Crucis Abbey Llangollen

Brief for applicants
Bursary: £15,000 for 6 months starting February 2013

We are inviting applications from contemporary applied artists based in the UK and overseas who wish to develop their practice within the context of one of Cadw’s historic monuments.
Pity I can't persuade them to stock my book. I wrote it free of charge and they stand to make money out of it. Why not for Pete's sake?

Now we know the name of the artist in residence...
For the next six months, the abbey will have its own artist in residence, Lucy Harvey. It is the first of a new programme of residencies which has been developed through a partnership between the Arts Council of Wales and Cadw.

Hackers have destroyed the Project Eliseg website and they are working to bring it back up. In the meantime the YouTube videos are still all in place:

An interesting internet rumour...
_schnor on Fortean Times message board wrote:Local lore suggests that the grail used to be located in an ancient farmhouse about halfway between Corwen and Glyndyfrdwy along the A5. The farmhouse was supposedly the place where the Knights Templar used to stop off between the Abbey (that used to stand on the site now occupied by Valle Crusis Abbey), and Betws-y-Coed.

You can see the new (~16th C) farmhouse about 20m from the road, so the location of the previous farmhouse shouldn't be too far away.

As to whether the ancient tale is true or not, I have no idea

The Project Eliseg website is now back online with news of a lecture given by Prof. Howard Williams:
Project Eliseg wrote:The keynote lecture of the 2013 Runes Network conference available online. Presented by Prof. Howard Williams, the first half of the talk presents ideas regarding how Project Eliseg has transformed our understanding of early medieval stone monuments.

An old article mentioning Steve Blake, from 2007...
Celtic Land of Dead ‘lies in North Wales’

A NINETEENTH century map in a North Wales town hall could unravel one of Celtic history’s most enduring mysteries – the location of the legendary Land of the Dead.
