I've been looking for reaction to this story, I note that one forum topic on the Magic Cafe Forum (frequented by skeptics, many of whom are stage magicians) was deleted.
Considerable strength of feeling especially from the skeptics, that such a thing could happen in a British Court of law.
However, at least one commentator echoed the point I made in a previous post:

In a supreme fit of irony, rationalists accused her of fraud without bothering to collect the evidence they needed to substantiate the claim. She sued, she won, and she deserved to win.
