Here's an interesting video blog post from Trent Palmer, who is a bush pilot in the high desert. He was building a house and had a professional water dowser come in and site a borehole for it, which cost $43,000 and came up dry at 800ft.
So he bought some cheap dowsing rods and he and his wife decide to try dowsing their own well.
